Sue Knowles is a founder member of the membership cash and carry warehouse club UK Costco Wholesale UK's start up team who in 1993 and was responsible for setting up all aspects of Marketing/HR/Risk Management and Corporate Responsibility from scratch.

Prior to joining Costco, Sue worked for the UK's largest cash and carry Booker as their PR Director. Before the start of her career in wholesale, she was with Avon Cosmetics as a Senior Marketing Manager and a variety of secretarial positions. Sue considers her greatest achievement to be her position as International Chair (Europe, Asia and Australia) for Costco's internal women's networking association, and as UK Chapter Chair for LEAD (Leading Executives Advancing Diversity).

As the Chairperson for Costco's United Way Ambassadors, the internal team who promote United Way throughout the year and in particular during campaign weeks I am thrilled at the 45% participation of employees giving via their payroll to charities. Sue was heavily involved in the launch of United Way in the UK and her subsequent election to the United Way Board early 2021 was a great opportunity to have impact on the strategy and growth of United Way in the UK.
