It’s been a tough few years. Too many people are struggling – paying more and more for the weekly shop, making up for the learning lost during pandemic school closures, and recovering from natural and man-made disasters.
Our communities are struggling but we know individuals can change the world. That’s United Way’s sweet spot. Our strength is bringing people together to make positive, lasting change. For example, here at United Way UK this year we have engaged over 400 volunteers in support of their local communities.
With our partners, experts, community leaders and residents, United Way UK looks at the toughest problems and innovates local solutions that work best in our community. We make it easy for you to take meaningful action that makes a difference. That can be volunteering for a program that helps children access books, like the Reading Oasis programme. Or donating to Give Local through payroll giving, providing grant support for charities in your community doing amazing work.
And we *are* seeing positive results. Over the last year, United Way UK and the donors, partners and volunteers who’ve joined us have made a difference. Consider:
Over 1,800 hours of volunteering delivered in local communities

Over 80 local charities supported across all programmes
